This Institutional Development Plan (IDP) of Sahu Jain College for the academic year 2025-26 has been prepared in accordance with UGC Guidelines for Institutional Development Plans for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). These guidelines provided by UGC serve as a guiding light for institutions striving to evolve and excel within present dynamic educational framework.
Objectives of IDP of Sahu Jain College
- To achieve excellence in the areas of academic knowledge, research, and teaching.
- To provide a learner-centric teaching, knowledge creation, innovation and knowledge application; following an integrated multi-disciplinary approach including science, arts, humanities, vocational, sports, and various co-curricular activities.
- To focus on vocational education, training & skill development and the traditional education as per National Education Policy 2020 and National Credit Framework (NCrF).
- To run various academic, vocational and co-curricular activities as per the guidelines of U.P. Higher Education Department and the affiliating University/Universities.
- To emphasizing participation, inclusivity, and responsive adaptability fostered by encouraging openness, collaboration, research, innovation, and community ties.
Key Elements of IDP for the year 2025-26
- Duration: It is a short term IDP for the academic period 2025-26 keeping in view the Vision and mission document of the college.
- To Develop Feedback mechanism: to have students’ and guardians’ feedback on college activities and performance an online mechanism will be developed.
- Financial Budget: A budget comprising of the various recurring and non-recurring expenditures and incomes of the college will be prepared. Proper Provisions will be made for buying necessary materials and equipment for office requirements, subject departments requirements, sports department requirements and for the various co-curricular activities requirements of the college.
- Conducting various programs enhancing Employability Skills: Various programs will be conducted enhancing employability skills among them. These skills will include Digital Literacy/ Skills/ digital fluency, Financial & Legal Literacy, Start-up management and Entrepreneurship, Customer Service orientation and Job readiness, exam preparation, Communication Skills, English Skills, Inclusivity and Diversity including Gender sensitization
- Mentoring the Students: various mentoring sessions for the students will be conducted for students with the objectives of developing: Critical thinking and problem solving, Creative thinking and innovation, Analytical Thinking, Adaptive Thinking, Design Thinking & Creativity, Computational thinking, social intelligence, Cross cultural competency, New media literacy, Virtual collaboration, Decision Making, Conflict resolution and negotiations, maintaining a sound mental health etc.
- Professional Development of Teaching/Administerial Staff: Sanctions will be given to various teaching and administrative staff of the college to enhance their professional skills like participation in seminars/workshops/conferences/symposiums/FDPs/Technology Upgradation Programs/take up of research projects/ various training and skill development programs/apprentice programs run by the Govt. and Non-Govt. organizations etc.
- Strict Follow up of Academic and Co-curricular Calendar: Sahu Jain College has a well-defined academic calendar and co-curricular action plan for the year. Strict follow-up of these calendar and action plan will be the priority of the college management keeping also in view the instruction guidelines of Higher Education Dept. and affiliating universities.
- Continuance of Hybrid Method of Teaching: Teaching will continue the Hybrid method of teaching involving offline classes as well as online classes using zoom, google meet platforms etc. E-content will be developed by the teachers and made available to the students. Other online study material will also be provided by the teachers to students through online platforms and WhatsApp groups etc.
- Advanced Teaching learning process: ICT-enabled teaching and smart classroom usage will be promoted. Student-centric learning activities will be conducted such as peer teaching and group discussions. MOOCs, SWAYAM, and NPTEL courses for blended learning will be implemented. Experiential learning will be encouraged through field visits and industry interactions.
- Examination and Evaluation Process: Continuous Assessments/Internal Assessments/Mid Term Exams/sessional exams/end semester exam and; practical, viva, assignments etc. will be conducted as per the affiliating university guidelines and instructions. Exam oriented training/guidelines/coaching will be made available to students for their better academic performance. Grievance Redressal System for exam related problems will be made strengthened.
- Developing the students as Good Social Being: Activities like Developing cultural and traditional skills, activities involving teams or groups related to social work and social contribution; will be conducted. These activities will mold good character and team working skills of the students and incorporate collective responsibility in them. These activities support all-round development of students and enhance their competency and confidence in facing any challenges.
- Role of IQAC: IQAC and its effective functioning will be the key to follow the IDP and attaining its various objectives. For this purpose, IQAC will be given adequate authority and autonomy for the successful performance of various activities of college.
- Carrer Advancement of Teaching and Non-teaching Staff: It will be ensured that various teaching and administerial staff of the college get benefits of their Career Advancement Program strictly on time if they are found eligible for that. Unnecessary delay will not be tolerable in this regard at any level.
- Enrichment of College Library: library of the college will be provided by various material in sufficient quantity like books for students, current affairs magazines, research journals, reference books, newspapers etc. to facilitate students, teaching staff and research scholars.
- MOUs with Academic Institutions, NGOs and Industrial Firms: Proposals will be made to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with various educational institutions of high reputation & reputed NGOs and with various industrialist of the district. This will enhance the academic and vocational skills of all the parties involved in MOUs.
- Providing of various Govt. Facilities to the Eligible students: various facilities, benefits and concessions will be provided to the eligible students time to time like reservation in admission process, tablet distribution, fee concession, scholarship/fee refund by state govt. etc.
- Hiring of Teaching and Administerial Staff on Temporary basis as per requirements: Various teaching and administerial staff requirement will be fulfilled by hiring competent persons on Purely temporary basis. The demand for the temporary staff will be raised by the respective HODs and Office Superintendent and other competent authorities.
- Recognition and Reward system: Pratibha Samman Samaroh for the meritorious students and students having excellence in the areas of Sports, Cultural programs, NCC, NSS, rovers/rangers, competitions etc. will be organized at the time of Republic Day celebration or at the time of annual function of college.
- Safety and Security of the Campus: As the safety of student irrespective of the gender of students is priority of the college, so proper arrangements of security guards, CCTV surveillance, arrangement of police force at exams & special events, fencing of college boundary, proper lighting in college campus, safe parking etc. will be strictly made.
- Placement drive for final year students: Periodic placement drives for final year students and passed out students will be organized. For these networks will be built with various industry sectors for internships and job placements, leveraging placement cells for networking and employment opportunities.
- Development of Smart and Green Campus: Sincere efforts will be made to make the college campus smart and green. For smart campus it will be ensured that each and every section of college building is covered under Wi-Fi-facility, voice recording and CCTV surveillance. For green campus lawns, grounds, botanical garden etc. will be thoroughly maintained as per seasonal requirements. Plantation programs must have a provision in college budget. Neatness of the campus will not be tolerable.
- Energy Conservation: As in the year 2024-25 a 40 Kwh on-grid solar power plant was established but due to some technical reasons it could not be made functional. This year Soil Testing, Load bearing Test etc. will be conducted timely to make this solar plant functional. It will lead to a huge reduction in electricity and generator fuel & maintenance charges of college.
- Completion of delayed projects: Sincere efforts will be made to complete the delayed projects of 2024-25 like cycle stand development as separate parking for 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers, functionalization of open gym, renovation of labs, library enrichment replacing the old wiring of college, replacement of old malfunctioning inverters batteries etc.
- Digitalization:
- Development of a new software for admission process
- Arrangement of payment gateway with SBI for college registration fee and admission fee and linking it with payment gateway of college
- To develop a digitalized process for preparing SR form and TC & CC digitally.
- Official website of the college will be made more sophisticated and spacious to keep it updated for various NEP 2020 requirements and Statutory requirements.
- Presence on Social Media Platforms: Presence of Sahu Jain College on various social media platforms will be made more comprehensive. For this purpose, various academic and co-curricular activities of the college will be exhibited elaborately on social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp Channel etc.
- Continuance of Best practices: Likewise other years prior to 2025-26, best practices in the college campus will be continued without any hurdles. These best practices will include various programs for Road safety, Environment Conservation, Celebrations of birthday of various dignitaries, Nasha Mukti, Fire Fighting, Risk management, disaster management, time management, stress management and other programs time to time mandate by U.P. Govt., University and District Administration.
The above-described IDP is not merely a set of guidelines but a blueprint for our intent on embedding excellence into our institutional DNA. It targets at our Academic and Research Excellence and depth with width as cornerstones of an exemplary educational experience and development as a great human resource & human being for the nation. This IDP emphasizes the importance of mental health, well-being, safeguarding, while balancing the pursuit of academic and research excellence with the well-being of the academic community. This IDP aligns with the aspirations of NEP to cultivate a new generation of enlightened individuals equipped to navigate, thrive in and celebrate the diversity of the global village.
